Dryer sheets coat fabric in a waxy film to make it feel soft. That same film is what stops towels absorbing water and clogs microfibre. Wool balls do the job mechanically instead: they bounce through the load, hold the fabric apart and let hot air move, so things dry faster without being coated in anything.
Six balls per set, wool throughout, and unscented — add a drop of essential oil yourself if you want a scent.
